Hi,
The current beta (just uploaded) tries to satisfy dvips with regards to the map
files; this means that pdftex, dvipdfmx and dvips all do thinsg automatically
now; (the dvips alternative will be changed when map specials come available)
so, we now have:
texexec --ps somefile
texexec --dpx somefile
texexec --pdf somefile
texexec --xtx somefile
