\defineconversion [TitleCS]
[†,{\color[red]{‽}}]
\definecounter [TitleFnCount]
[way=bypage]
\definenotation [TitleFn]
[footnote]
\setupnotation [TitleFn]
[numberconversion=TitleCS,
counter=TitleFnCount,
indenting={yes,small}]
It was superfluous to do \setupnotation [footnote]
[numberconversion=set 2,
indenting={yes,small}]
because this would have changed all the footnotes to the symbol set 2, whereas
i require to keep them as numbered.
