Since today’s update, --autopdf=auto doesn’t work any more, and my

there might be a regression WRT external calls.
Sorry, the PDF was opened later(??), and with the next try it worked.
I need to check further.
Afaik nothing changed.
As you're testing: for those who mix various fonts in a paragraph this
could perform a little better:
\enableexperiments[fonts.checkchardisc]
It is not enabled by default because it actually might perform a little
less otherwise. Don't expect miracles. It's for demanding (maybe
inefficient) fonts like EBgaramond and such. And even then most users
probably won't notice unless one has workflows with high continuous
demand. It was actualluy mostly an "I wonder what if we'd do this tor
that." kind of experiment and depending on experiences it might stay.
Talking of experiments: I installed context + scite etc on a rpi 500+
with ubuntu and the performance ratio laptop:rpi is now 2:3 so actually
that pi is not performing that bad. (A modern workstation might be twice
as fast so then we have 1:3 but still quite ok as that was the rpi 4
ratio).
