Also, note that div and rot should be in text font. You should 
probably do
\startmathcollection[default]
   \definemathcommand [div]      [nolop] {\mfunction{div}}
   \definemathcommand [rot]      [nolop] {\mfunction{rot}}
\stopmathcollection

and use \div \rot etc.
