What is the logic behind offset and rulethickness (the units and the
reference point)?
(I played a bit with offset=0 and different rulethicknesses...)

will be in an upcoming maps article and i'm hesitant to put the text online before it's published

see end of node-rul.mkiv ... you can do underline etc by manipulating these values
