I noticed that the mkiv command

Hello,

I don't know, but I have these line in most of my environments:

\setuptype[style={\setcharacterspacing[reset]\tt}]
\setuptyping[style={\setcharacterspacing[reset]\tt}]
\setupinteraction[style={\setcharacterspacing[reset]\tt}]

\appendtoks
   \setcharacterspacing[reset]%
\to \everyinitializeverbatim

but maybe all such features should be enabled in verbatim i.e. maybe we need something \everyforgettypesetting or so
