Hello, thanks Aditya, \placefigure does the job:
- multiple paragraphs flow the picture - OK, - heads may flow the picture as well ("\setupheads[aligntitle=float]" required) - OK, - "tabulate" is still drawn over the picture, but it doesn't cause jumping to the bottom of the picture - useful. (In my actual case, this only means to not use the first column of "tabulate" which only one would overwrite the picture - that's OK.) The final test is attached. Thanks again.
