I tried, but couldn't use latin modern as the main font.

No problem for example with \setmainfont[Helvetica] or \setmainfont[Tex Gyre 
Pagella], but with \setmainfont[Latin Modern Roman] I get only cyrillic OR 
chinese depending on the order of the fallback definitions. It is the same 
outcome as without \setmainfont.
