have you ever tried the context version of TeXLive 2011 and than the updated version of it? There is made use of an updated version of luatex. With that version I have fewer problems with for instance TikZ. The stable version and the beta version of context both use an old version of luatex ( beta-0.70.1-2011052008). There is some luatex version beta-0.70.1-201106.......??
