Thanks Wolfgang for explanation, as always very clear. Another related question: If I want to use italic numbers in math, I use: \definefallbackfamily[...][math][...][tf=style:italic,preset=math:digitsnormal]
But I lose upright numbers this way. How can I solve this issue.
