Hi Claire, you should use Aditya’s filter module to call external programs: https://github.com/adityam/filter There’s a module for R in the distribution (see https://source.contextgarden.net/tex/context/modules/mkii/m-r.mkii), but it’s only for MkII and AFAIK superseded by the filter module.
