Hello Julian, the mechanism does not work in the typesetting of the TOC.
Whatt you is the following, when the book is in a final stage: run the file with \showinjector. This will give you in the left margin the numbers of the different TOC-entries. Now you can say \setinjector[list] [“the number of the injector where the break must take place][\page] I hope that this is solving your issue.
