Subject: Re: Ntopng and commercial support
Joaquin
next week we will introduce ntopng. The
release is stable, rock stable, but it will not be feature
complete although all the basic pieces will be present. We
have rewritten everything from scratch, and thus some
features will be added later on. We plan to have a follow-up
release in the summer timeframe and in autumn we're working
at moving ntopng onto new fields (think about the microcloud
and network security just to name a few). We will publish a
detailed roadmap.
The idea of ntopng is to have something
modern and open where people can really contribute. ntop
"classic" being it coded in C and spaghetti code due to the
many changes we made, was not exactly like that. For ntopng
we want to build a community where people can contribute and
benefit.
Yes we plan to offer commercial support
as well community support. We're open to several options we
are discussing with our partner Endian.com that has already
experience on this and that can assist. If you have some
specific request or suggestion, please let us know.
I’m
interested in the implementation of ntopng, I would
like to know if the release of it is still on track
and will be available next week.
This
first release is going to be an final release or an
alpha/beta/RC ?
A
part from the new release, I would like to know what
options are available for commercial support. Like
subscription, per ticket etc.
