Hi Peter, > Well, you got me so interested in this wonderful product and now I > can't load it! Boo Hoo.
You're an IT Consultant / Systems Engineer? I answered the mail you wrote to the ntop-mailinglist hours ago. Please have a look at your emails first before writing exactly the same mail to this mailinglist (ntop-dev)! Here my answer again in the case you accidently deleted my other email: You use version 1.3.1. Download the current snapshot from http://snapshot.ntop.org/tgz/ntop-current.tgz, it's much better. What I realised is that you haven't got the libpcap on your system. The best is to download it from http://www.tcpdump.org/daily/libpcap-current.tar.gz and put it in a directory lets say "path-to-pcap". Follow the instructions in ntop/docs/BUILD-NTOP.txt (in the directory where you unpacked ntop). When you run ./configure in the ntop-directory, run it with ./configure --with-pcap-root=path-to-pcap and perhaps other parameters. Good luck!
