The cvs is just that - a continuous version... thanks for the bug report...
Latest release is 2.1.2, available at SourceForge. You'll have to build it from source, as I don't think SunFreeware has caught up, but Luca does much of his development on Sun i86, so it's pretty easy build. -----Burton -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Cooper Nelson Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2002 6:02 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Ntop-dev] NTOP won't build under Solaris7 --hangs while "checking net/if.h usability" System is SunOS igpprt 5.7 Generic_106541-04 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60 Build is fstable and August 13th CVS snapshot release , both exhibit the same behavior. Configure hangs at "checking usability for net/if.h ...". Looking at top I see a process "as" using lots of CPU time. config.log shows the following errors: configure:5146: checking net/if.h usability configure:5155: gcc -c -g -O2 -pipe -Wshadow -Wpointer-arith -Wmissing-prototyp es -Wmissing-declarations -Wnested-externs -fPIC conftest.c >&5 In file included from configure:5183: /usr/include/net/if.h:190: field `ifa_addr' has incomplete type /usr/include/net/if.h:192: field `ifu_broadaddr' has incomplete type /usr/include/net/if.h:193: field `ifu_dstaddr' has incomplete type /usr/include/net/if.h:199: confused by earlier errors, bailing out I've tried using different compilers, different linkers/assemblers, and different versions of /usr/include/net/if.h. Nothing has worked so far. I really want to get this ntop up and running on my network as soon as possible, so any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone has a solaris7 package for the latest stable release that would help as well.
