Sure... I am not going in to reams of discussion - its not a big deal - But if you apply the same reasoning, why does the traffic page get sorted by data volume rather than by host? (and I am not suggesting for one minute that it should be!)
The reason IMHO is that Data volume on the traffic page and current bandwidth on the throughput page are 'more' sensible to sort on. Everyone will have differing needs - I think it just comes down to what is 'more' common. Anyway end of suggestion. Mark -----Original Message----- From: Burton M. But thinking about it some more, it's certainly open to argument. However, you can achieve the intended results by simply editing the .html file to give the url the column sort you want. Hover the mouse over the column header and you'll see the URL... That way nothing has to change in ntop itself. -----Burton > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf > Of Mark Gibbons > Sent: Monday, March 29, 2004 4:47 PM > To: Ntop-Dev (E-mail) > Subject: [Ntop-dev] Suggestion > > > Hi > > I believe the ethos of ntop is to show the "curren view" of the network. > > Would it not be a good idea to sort the All Protocols\Throughput > page by Data\Current by default? > > At present , when you go on that page it is sorted by Host which > would seem fairly pointless - at the end of the day you want to > see who is consuming most bandwidth "currently" > > Mark > _______________________________________________ > Ntop-dev mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop-dev > _______________________________________________ Ntop-dev mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop-dev _______________________________________________ Ntop-dev mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop-dev
