WRT MAC OS X, I think it is a good idea to create binary packages for rc2 so
people can test in that environment also. Win32(Demo) is, I agree, a
toss-up.

WRT .deb package, having somebody create one for rc2 is again a benefit to
wider testing.

WRT Win32(MinGW):

 (1) If Georger can give us instructions and maintain a MinGW binary which
follows the releases, that's of benefit and belongs in SourceForge under
'User Contrib'.

 (2) I agree these changes are not going into baseline until / unless they
are packaged properly (i.e. so that they do NOT break VC++ .Net). That's
why I'm looking for somebody to take this on - Georger (can't/won't/isn't
interested) take this the last mile.

Finally, thanks for the confirmation re Solaris.

I'll do this with the final 3.2

This after 3.2

I would like to avoid this now. The code works perfectly under .NET and I
don't want to break it for MinGW. We can postpone it to 3.2.1
