Hi Sam:
Have you use this command " cat /proc/net/pf_ring/info ". And could you
tell me your system information with NIC cards.

Hi Saxon,

Thanks for your reply.
And you could see what I have listed in the last email about "ls /proc/net/"
which shows there is no pf_ring folder under /proc/net. So this is what I doubt
now.

Somebody says the folder /proc/net/pf_ring/ will be created just after the
first use of pf_ring. But when I execute pfcount, it throws error. So this
folder is still not created.

When I use" dmesg | grep PF_RING ", there is no output.

Hi Sam:
First you could use " cat /proc/net/pf_ring/info " to check the pf_ring
attributes,
and then use " dmesg | grep PF_RING " to check PF_RING installed and ran
information.

Hi,

My steps of using pf_ring are:

#Insmod pf_ring.ko

# lsmod
Module Size Used by
pf_ring 15064 0 - Live 0xbf1b0000

# ls /proc/net/
arp mcfilter protocols snmp udplite
dev netfilter ptype sockstat unix
dev_mcast netlink raw softnet_stat wireless
igmp netstat route stat
ip_mr_cache packet rpc tcp
ip_mr_vif pppoe rt_cache udp

#./pfcount

Capturing from eth0
pfring_open error

# ls /proc/net/
arp mcfilter protocols snmp udplite
dev netfilter ptype sockstat unix
dev_mcast netlink raw softnet_stat wireless
igmp netstat route stat
ip_mr_cache packet rpc tcp
ip_mr_vif pppoe rt_cache udp

I don't know how to analyse why "pfring_open error" occurs. Who could help
me?Thanks very much!

Sam
