Hello, I am looking for some advice on if my intended configuration would be valid and what would be recommended in terms of server hardware.
What I am looking to do is distribute several probes across my network (one at each core pop) and relay back to a single collector. The probes will have 10G interfaces (although not near 10G of traffic being captured) and from what I read, I would most likely purchase and run TNAPI w/ PF_RING. I see the testbed equipment for the TNAPI testing and will use that as a baseline in terms of specs for the probes I would like to deploy. That said, is this a workable design? What kind of traffic would I expect coming into the collector for each probe analyzing say 1G of traffic? What would the recommendation be in terms of hardware for the collector to handle 10 - 15 probes? I really appreciate the assistance. Thanks, Aaron
