Luca,

I will apply that update and send you the config file as well as a extended
output of my logfile in case there is anything interesting in it. I will send
it direct to your e-mail as it will most likely be to big for this forum...

Subject: Re: [Ntop-misc] Return of segfaults

Brian
1. how do you start ntop (command line options)?
2. I have just made a small fix. Please resync from SVN and let me know.

The short buffer message is not nice and it's an indication of a problem, not
just of a short buffer.

Thanks for your support

Luca

Luca,

I am not sure what quite has happened. But the segfaults have returned.

IE:

Dec 3 23:28:28 probe ntop[882]: **ERROR** Bad magic number
(expected=1968/real=1290) [deviceId=0] lookupHost()[pbuf.c:1421]
Dec 4 01:43:54 probe kernel: [134966.213250] ntop[956]: segfault at 8 ip

The issue here is that they are not as easily reproducible. The issue seems
to have started after you fixed the last memory leak. I did make a mod to
prng_Destroy function in prng.c as it was no using your safefree and I set the
pointer to null to see if maybe this was causing the issue. It seems to have
decreased the segfaults, but unfortunately, not eliminated them. Any ideas
where else to look based on the segfault issued above?
