Hi,

I installed pf_ring on a cluster of servers, and three of the four load
balance just fine. The three older computers have e100e or bnx2
drivers. The non-working newest computer uses igb driver version
2.1.0-k2. All servers are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. By non-working,
I can load pf_ring, but when I hook four processes to eth1, they are all
seeing the full amount of traffic, and not load balancing the flows.

I tried switching to transparent mode 1 or 2, but when I run pfcount
there is no traffic showing up. I installed the custom igb driver
version 4.0.17 that comes with pf_ring. When I check the interface with
ethtool -i eth1, it shows I'm still loading the 2.1.0-k2 driver, and not
the 4.0.17. When I run modinfo igb, I see the 4.0.17 driver is loaded.
I'm guessing the 2.1.0-k2 is compiled into the kernel because I can't
find it under /lib/modules. Is there some way to block the 2.1.0-k2
driver from loading and use the 4.0.17 instead? I tried playing with
udev, but am not having much luck? Has anybody had luck replacing the
igb drive on Ubuntu, or have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tyler
