I'm only getting 3.7 million packets/second from my MacBook Air + Thunderbolt +
ixgbe DNA. This is the same whether I use 1 thread or 4 threads (with 4
transmit/receive queues). The CPU is weak, 1.6 GHz dual-core hyperthreaded, but
it shouldn't be this weak.

I think it should be a lot higher. Especially, if I double the number of
queues/threads (dna0@0, dna0@1), the speed should double.

Now this is Ubuntu on a MacBook Air going across a Thunderbolt port to a cage
with the 10gbps Ethernet card, which is a highly unsupported configuration, so
that it works at all is sort of a miracle. But still, I'm hoping somebody has
experience with what might be the problem.

By the way, I'm using my port scanner (as well as pfsend) to test things out:
https://github.com/robertdavidgraham/masscan
It seems to work really well with PF_RING DNA.

Arg!

The driver is the ixgbe DNA driver.

And it appears the problem might've been that the cable was disconnected. I'm
fooled because disconnected cables seems to have worked on other cards, so I
didn't check it.

I also reset the external Thunderbolt cage.

Hi Robert
what is the driver model? is the link up?
