I have the Silicom Dual NIC without the FPGA. I'm curious as intel 82599
MAC time stamping is listed on linux ptp's site.
http://linuxptp.sourceforge.net/

I am, however, not clear if an explicit 1588 source is required for Linux
PTP and Intel's hardware timestamp to operate.
