I had similar issues. I THINK I'm running libevent 2 something. It was a long
time ago so now I'm not sure anymore. I also had to disable name resolution.

Subject: [Ntop] segfaults in libevent and libntop

Hi,

I'm using ntop 3.3.10 and am having some problems with either libntop or
libevent (1.4.13) segfaulting after some time.
ntop runs only for any period between a couple of minutes up to about 8 hours.

ntop is still running on a test environment, before deploying it on the "real"
network. The test environment has only one router (Linux), two servers and a
desktop.
The ntop server in this test environment is a Slackware 13.0 PIII (800MHz) box
with 1GB of RAM.

I have already tried different versions of libevent, compiling with -O0
(suggestions I found through Googling), but had no success.

Any better suggestions?
