Check for some kind of worm or worm-like behavior on your machine(s) and –
judging from your domain name – your customers.

RRD files are individually fixed size and there are a fixed # of them per host.
But each new host you communicate with creates a new set .

It is generally not a good idea for an ISP to turn on RRD without some heavy
filtering: it may be that the total affect of your clients communications with
the rest of the internet touches that many remote hosts. But it’s also the
hallmark of a worm trying to infect random hosts or people sending email to
1000s of ISPs, etc.

And no, stopping rrd won't clear the files, you'll have to do that manually.

Say,

How can I reduce the amount of hard drive space being used. We have more than
50Gig being used in a space of 7 days by ntop.

What settings can I use to force storage of data and logs on a certain drive?

If I kill ntop, will it clear the data files? How can I clear all the data
files?

Thanks
