Team NTop;
Advice/guidance needed to trouble shoot new install issue:
NTop GUI stops displaying data after 24 hours. Not working the
following morning.
Have entries in /var/log/messages:
Illegal attempt to update using time... minimum one second step.
Entries every 300 sec (5 min).
Entries both when the GUI works and during GUI not displaying data.
Seeing data on the Info about interface NetFlow-device.2 but only in the
Newly Created Flow: Statistics.
Conclude that NTop is continuing to collect data during GUI display
failure.
Resetting statistics does not resolve.
Stop/Start resolves (at least until the next morning), data starts to be
displayed in the GUI.
Stopping NTop with "/etc/init.d/ntop stop" and
Starting NTop with "ntop /usr/bin/ntop -P /var/lib/ntop -i eth0 -u
ntop -w 172.16.29.236:3000"
Commands ran as root.
Running on OpenSuSE, using SuSE NTop package (installed from YAST).
All troubleshooting hints and general ideas are greatly appreciated-,
where to look, what to try!
