You tried everything I wouldve. Since there are newer version I would say get the source and compile on that machine. I *think* most of the build probs have been resolved on *BSD.

Since this is the only app the box runs, I took the liberty of doing 'pkg_delete -a' and doing a reinstallation of all ports from scratch, which changed nothing. I'm a bit confused, since a similar upgrade on both a 7.0-Stable box and an 8.0-Release box went just fine, and the process is running under the ntop user on both, as expected. I've even started it form the console on the misbehaving box in two different ways: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ntop start and /usr/local/bin/ntop -d -u ntop -P /home/ntop/databases -K -L -t 6 -o -i em0 -m 192.168.8.0/24,192.168.9.0/24,192.168.10.0/24,192.168.11.0/24 -w 192.168.8.68:3000 -W 0 -D example.com and in both cases it runs as root. Anyone have a clue on how to fix this, or should I just scratch the box and start over?
