Hello All, I have a general question about BW readings form different software. I have an instance of MRTG that pulls SNMP data from an interface on a CISCO router. The same interface has NetFlow enabled (ingress and egress), and I'm using NTOP to plot data (NTOP has only the Netflow interface enabled) . Now If I look at the overall BW graph from MRTG and NTOP the difference in reported BW is substantial. MRTG on the Daily Graph (5 Min Average) reports something like 100K bits per second MAX, when NTOP via NETFLOW reports 5M bits per second (total IP traffic info for the interface), quite a difference. I'm sure I'm not confusing Bits and Bytes... the only explanation I kind of thought is the dumping factor of the 5 min average on MRTG but I'm not sure.
Has anybody experience something like this ? Any idea ? Regards Fulvio.
