Hi, Long time user of ntop, first time user of ntopng - I’ve downloaded and compiled from SVN the various bits required for the new build. Got ntopng running fine in local capture mode, but I get stuck when it comes to forwarding it netflows (which was previously fine with ntop directly, but I understand there is now a separate module for this purpose).
To try and see what I was doing wrong, I’ve also now deployed the nBox management interface, and used it to generate some configuration files, but still no luck. The only errors I can see anywhere are from ntopng and relate to .lua files. The exact error is as follows: [Lua.cpp:1338] WARNING: Script failure [/usr/local/share/ntopng/scripts/callbacks/nprobe-collector.lua][...ocal/share/ntopng/scripts/callbacks/nprobe-collector.lua:7: module 'lua_utils' not found: no field package.preload['lua_utils'] no file './scripts/lua/modules/lua_utils.lua' no file './lua_utils.lua' no file '/usr/local/share/luajit-2.0.2/lua_utils.lua' no file '/usr/local/share/lua/5.1/lua_utils.lua' no file '/usr/local/share/lua/5.1/lua_utils/init.lua' no file './lua_utils.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/lua_utils.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/loadall.so'] For reference, I am running both binaries with the following parameters: [ntopng parameters generated by nBox] -w=3001 -g=-1 -G=/var/run/ntopng.pid -i=tcp://localhost:5555 [nprobe parameters generated by nBox] -n=127.0.0.1:2055 -i=none -t=60 -d=60 -a=0 -e=1 -B=10 -w=128000 -z=0 -S=1:1 -E=0:0 -m=15 -g=/var/run/nprobe-none.pid -3=3333 --zmq=tcp://*:5555 --vlanid-as-iface-idx=none -V=5 --dump-stats=/var/log/nprobe/none_flows_stats.txt To be honest, I’m not entirely clear on how the two modules now ‘talk’ to each other over zmq, so I may not have set it up right at all, but the lua script error makes me think that there is another issue. After 30 seconds of running nprobe I get the (expected) warning that I’ve exported the maximum flows (25000) which the demo version permits, so I’m pretty sure that at least the probe is ‘getting’ the flows from the router. I’ll be getting the license as soon as I get it working :) Any pointers / feedback very welcome!
