Thank you both for such a quick response. I will be upgrading one system first. Testing and going on from there.

Thanks Again

Phil

Hi Phillip
like Arianna said, ntop is no longer supported. ntopng is a major rewrite and
it is not compatible with ntop unfortunately.

Moving to ntopng does not guarantees you to keep data unfortunately, but if you
want to move forward you need to use ntopng

All,

Hi Phillip,

We are currently using ntop-5.0.1-99.el6.i686,ntopng-1.2.2-8637.i686, and
ntopng-data-1.2.2-8637.noarch. If I upgrade to a newer version of NTOP will I
lose all my existing rrd file data or the redis database? The issues are we
can not purge alerts, and can not sort columns in Protocol view. We can not
lose the data!

If you update ntopng you will not lose any data. It seems you are using a very
very old version of ntopng, the one that was called ntop. Please do update the
repos and search for the ntopng package.

Thanks,
Arianna

   Any suggestions please?

Thanks,

Phillip Lynn
