Ignoring the fact you really are better off with compiling the newest version, it says that it needs some shared libraries.
The easiest way of figuring out which one those are, is to open www.rpmfind.net and doing a search on "libcrypto.so.0.9.6". repeat that for the other ones if necessary. In this case I can say you'll need the openssl and the readline packages. They're both on (one of) the redhat cd ('s). Look for something like "openssl-0.9.6-3.i386.rpm" Your version number may be different.
