1. DOS memory, which is what you're showing, isn't meaningful. However,
yes, 128MB should be enough to run at least with a small network.

2. & 3. / not a clue. I haven't tried it... some random thoughts...

Where did you get the version of NTop from? If it's the version from
www.ntop.org (the demo), it runs fine for me on both 2K and 98SE - I just
downloaded and installed and ran it on my wife's Windows 98 SE machine.
Don't have ME to test...

When you say:

"Here is what I did.
1. install winpcap.dll
2. copy ntop.exe and libgdbm-2.dll in same directory.
3. execute " ntop -w 3000""

does this mean you are NOT using the demo package? Because I'm confused
about your "copy" statement. The install shield in the demo does all that.
If you copied NTop to some OTHER directory, then you have to copy
EVERYTHING. Ntop looks for its files relative to it's execution directory
and - if not found there - in specific, hardcoded places (and I don't know
what those are for Windows).

If it's not the demo, please download the demo, follow the directions
EXACTLY re installing winpcap and let me know if THAT works...

128M should be enough, right?

Memory Type Total Used Free
---------------- -------- -------- --------
Conventional 636K 60K 576K
Upper 0K 0K 0K
Reserved 0K 0K 0K
Extended (XMS) 65,535K ? 128,264K
---------------- -------- -------- --------
Total memory 66,171K ? 128,840K

Total under 1 MB 636K 60K 576K

Largest executable program size 576K (589,680 bytes)
Largest free upper memory block 0K (0 bytes)
MS-DOS is resident in the high memory area.

I did the same thing on WinME and Win2000.
Ntop 2.0 fails on WinME but it runs well on Win2000.

Here is what I did.
1. install winpcap.dll
2. copy ntop.exe and libgdbm-2.dll in same directory.
3. execute " ntop -w 3000"

Then I can see dnsCache.db is created in the same directory but size is
zero.
Do I have to include certain directory in PATH?
Or I have to generate dnsCache.db in advance? If so, how can I prepare it?

Thanks for your promptly response.
