ntop is multi-threaded. On my Linux machine, each thread shows up as a separate process. The # depends on how POSIX threads are implemented in your environment (hint: You'll need to research that).
IIRC, there was traffic about zombie's under FreeBSD - check the back traffic on the mailing list. -----Burton -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Behrens, Stefan Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 5:05 AM To: Ntop-Mailingliste (E-Mail) Subject: [Ntop] Multiple ntop-Instances Hi again, another thing I've recognized here: There are multiple ntop-Instances on my solaris machines: nobody 7459 7455 0 10:54:53 ? 0:00 ntop -r 60 -d -i ge0 -u nobody -P /tivoliadm nobody 7455 1 0 10:54:36 ? 4:54 ntop -r 60 -d -i ge0 -u nobody -P /tivoliadm nobody 7461 7455 0 10:54:53 ? 0:00 ntop -r 60 -d -i ge0 -u nobody -P /tivoliadm Sometimes I have seen a lot more instances, round about ten. If it occurs, ntop mostly does not work anymore. ntop is on 2.0 stable release here. Is this a normal behaviour ?
