Hello. The last ntop snapshot 16-05-2002 keeps crashing. It seems that the application stays running a little more, but at the end it crashes. It always crashes when freeing a tcp session that has timed out. It seems that the pointer to the session that is being freed is OK, as the data seems coherent. If I let ntop run without messing with the browser, it is capable to run for hours, but when I begin to look at the information, it crashes. Can it be a thread interacion issue ?
Environment: the same : redhat 6.2 with all the official patches, libcap-0.7.2, compiled with SSL disabled. Command line: gdb /usr/local/bin/gdb set args -w 4000 -u nobody -P /var/log/ntop -a /var/log/ntop/ntop.log -m 172.16.0.0/16 -K If you want some debug information, ask for it and I'll do as much as I can.
