Hi, does anyone have experience with monitoring a busy gigabit ethernet backbone with ntop?
If yes, can you please give me some suggestions what kind of machine is required for that? I want to run linux and would like to know if a dual-cpu machine has any advantage and how fast the machine should be. I know a bridging machine with dual 1.2 Ghz works fine, but how about ntop on top of it? How about RAM? Do I need at least 1 GB or is RAM not so important? Thanx for any suggestions.
