I really hate to be another one of these linux noobs, but ntop has made me
give this OS a go.

I'm running RH9 and tried running 2.2.93 through the i386.rpm which, by all
windows accounts seemed to have gone through OK. However I got the above
message upon starting it. I'm doing all of this logged in as root, and the
/var/ntop directory was not there so I created it.

After that failed I tried compiling it myself with 2.2.93 (untar then
./configure, make install, make) under a terminal box through the default
RH9 gui. This was run from the /root directory.

Still having exactly the same trouble. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Burton I'm sure these questions start to get on your nerves a lot of the
time, but I think it's a great indication of what your software is capable
of doing and the sheer amount of windows turned linux noobs can attest to
that.

Cheers,
Josh.
