The suggested patches make ntop 2.2.96 work on Solaris 8 (Sparc) aswell. Cheers, Leonardo

I finally got around to do a test build today, I do have it running but I had to do 2 things to get there.
1) Luca removed the -liconv from the libs (look in ntop/configureextras/SOLARIS9 file, PS thanks Burton those are a great addition! ) Now I know that the iconv stuff is built into the c libraries in Solaris so I have no idea why it is I need to add this under Solaris 9 all I now is that configure will fail on gd (destroy something I can catch the error if someone really wants it.)
2) Again I had to do the hack to pbuf.c that I listed here http://lists.ntop.org/pipermail/ntop/2003-June/005744.html the line number is now 990, whithout this hack Ntop will die after dispatching the pcap calls. (You get a BUS ERROR).
However after doing these 2 things I have it running fine under Solaris 9 (sparc). If I have a chance later I'll try Solaris 8.
Hope this helps anyone out there with Solaris Sparc. At least it shows that it does still run (and looks damn good if I may say.)
