Sounds like you had the perfect BAD combo - the broken gcc + broken libtool.
Either one we can survive.  Both causes the problem...

So...

1. USE_LIBTOOL   Bad user.  Bad user.  No biscut for you.

    We should probably put a warning test in there... it would have to go in
Makefile.am (Makefile.in) so it was tested @ runtime...


2. Memo to self: Never update ntop to the broken libtools 1.5.2...


As for 3.0pre1 - hang tight - there will be a pre2 soon as I can fix the
sorting problem instead of answering questions...
 :-)
