Hey I'm all for that, how much disk space we talking?
I only have 3 computers here plus the gateway that plugs into the cable modem. No corporate LAN here. Ntop would be running on the gateway box, it'll only see internet bound traffic (the NIC that the cable modem is connected to). You see I share with 1 other we split the cost of the net 2 ways each month, so I just want to make sure we are getting what we pay for. In Australia internet isn't cheap. . . . Nick P.S. Would you please make sure you stick the "RE" in the right place of the subject, like where it is in this message, I'm using Outlook 2003 and it has a conversation view, where all the messages are presented in a threaded view, it didn't pick up on the fact that your message was part of the thread because the RE was in a different spot :/ P.P.S. also with mailing lists is it just "common sense" to stick ">" in a reply and then stick your thoughts in amongst the original message, so that after 3-4 backwards & forwards the message is so stuffed up it is really hard to read??? Its just something I've just picked up again joining this mailing-list, haven't been on one for a while now. . . . Like not all email clients wrap at 75 columns, and as such the ">" end up in amongst the text too, and then you get a few words per line and gets totally out of control! I mean I can do this, just seems very illogical, after all being tech savvy people logic should be what most of our thoughts go through. . . -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jan Niederhumer Sent: Tuesday, 6 April 2004 8:40 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Ntop] Re: A step by step guide? > Hi, > Is there a step-by-step guide for setting up ntop for use with a SQL db > backend? > thanks > Nick Provided no one minds, I have a fully working netflow to mysql db setup which I would be happy to help you setup. Although please note that in order to store an extended amount of data you WILL need a decent amount of drive space.
