Ok, so talk to the people who packaged gdbm. All I can say is that if it isn't installed, ntop won't compile nor work...

What I mean is that I have mysql on this machine! When Installing (well attempting to install the gdbm stuff ) I installed the gdbm-1.8.2.tar.gz it seems that it had problems building directorys permissions etc.. I created a number of these by hand but I was still getting various errors. On 04/06/2004, at 9:35 PM, Burton M. Strauss III wrote: Um... mysql != gdbm ... not even close. Try searching the Gnu lists to figure out what's wrong w/ gdbm or look for a binary package. Try asking on Mac lists what error 97 is - you may need to give more. As a guess, try using gmake (Gnu make) - most Gnu tools require it. -----Burton -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Steve Abrahall Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2004 6:04 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Ntop] Ntop 3 Ok I installed GNU gdbm-1.8.3 Hmm interesting I've also got an install of MYSQL and it seems as if the install process is having problems with permissions ?? I'm getting /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 -o bin -g bin gdbm.h \ /usr/local/include/gdbm.h install: bin: Invalid argument make: *** [install] Error 67 Any thoughts on this? TIA for needed hand holding!
