Hello all….

I have just recently found out that my ntop installation stops collecting data
at a random point. Although the ntop shows it is running but the data values
never change Has any one experienced this kind of problem? If so is there a
fix for this.
I am using ntop v.3.2 (Dag Apt RPM Repository) [i686-pc-linux-gnu] and it is
installed on Redhat

Thank you all for your help

How are you capturing traffic? With an interface in promisc mode? If
so, please go to Summary -> Traffic and look for the following
section:

Dropped (ntop) 0.0% 0
Total Received (ntop) 515,429
Total Packets Processed 515,429

Yours will also have a line about how many packets libpcap has dropped
(I'm only using NetFlow). What percentage and total amount of traffic
is being dropped? If you restart ntop, does it begin collecting
statistics again?

Try running df from a shell and make sure you have plenty of disk
space. Also, once it stops, run top and make sure you've got some
available memory.
