Rivalino,
where do I configure that? I did not find an option to set how DNS is
queried... There is a bind running on the same machine, holding our
internal zone and reverse zone as secondary.

Daniel,

Did you get this output logged at the same host where ntop is running?

If not, try assure that ntop is querying the internal DNS through its
internal interface.

If I use the -n switch the IP addresses of the hosts are being shown
instead of localhost. The -m switch does not have any effect on this
issue. I have also verified that reverse DNS is working properly (e.g.
"host 192.168.100.100" returns a valid response as
"100.100.168.192.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer darnold.wjp.de.").
I have put up a config dump here: http://utopia4.de/tmp/ntopconf/

Post a dump of your ntop configuration so people can help - it is not a
usual problem. Hosts normally are resolved through reverse DBS lookup

Subject: [Ntop] ntop and NAT

Hi,

I have ntop running on a linux box which is a NAT router for our local
network. This is running fine, so far, but I noticed one annoying issue:
Any host on the LAN is named "localhost". The links refer to the correct
IP address but it is impossible to get a quick overview of the network
load / traffic when every host is called "localhost". Is there any way
to get around this?

Thanks in advance,
Daniel
