nTop supports rrd for data persistence.  You can also you tcpdump or some 
libpcap tool and save all the frames to disk, then use nTop to analyze / view 
the captured/stored data.  I think there's options in nTop to dump captured 
data to disk.  You can also apply filters on what's captured, etc.

Great and this means that I lose all data gathered before... NTOP is
actually a great tool, but I can't come around with this annoying
