Not really - the libraries are generated by the compile, each has certain programs. So while it's theoretically possible to drop a replacement in, if anything has changed - such as work area layouts, et al, you'll seg fault.
Either build & install from scratch or wait for your packager to update. -----Burton _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Munoz Sent: Sunday, January 27, 2008 12:49 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Ntop] Question on updating libntopreport.a for whois hyperlink I'm hoping to find an easy way to update the whois link in NTOP. I see that the latest version has been updated but its much easier for me to just install through apt-get. It seems the files to update are libntopreport.a, and libntopreport-3.2.so <http://libntopreport-3.2.so/> . If I update libntopreport.a it doesn't seem to make a difference. If I update libntopreport-3.2.so <http://libntopreport-3.2.so/> I get a segmentation fault. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help. -- Thanks, Mike
