Hi everyone,
Here's the problem:
New install of ntop 3.3 compiled from source on solaris 10, running on
sunfire v240 hardware. Runs fine when collecting data from bge0 the
default interface but will not collect netflow data. The plugin is
enabled and configured for interface address 172.20.1.0/255.255.255.0
and port 2055.
Router is configured for netflow v5. I also tried v9 with the same
results.
Snoop|grep 2055 shows lots of incoming data of the form:
172.20.1.2 -> loretta UDP D=2055 S=53567 LEN=1436
Netstat -an | grep 2055 shows nothing.
I start ntop with:
ntop -P /data/ntop --local-subnets "10.0.0.0/8"
And I see at the end of the output
NETFLOW: Created a UDP socket (16)
NETFLOW: Collector listening on port 2055
NETFLOW: Started thread for receiving flows on port 2055
NETFLOW: thread starting [p3118]
NETFLOW: (port 2055) thread running [p3118]
Initializing device NetFlow-device.2 (1)
NETFLOW: createNetFlowDevice created device 1
After a couple of hours running the netflow plugin statistics page still
shows: No Data to Display (Yet)
There are no errors reported to stdout but /var/adm/messages shows
immediately on startup:
Feb 20 14:54:49 loretta ntop[3118]: [ID 702911 user.error]
THREADMGMT[t1]: ntop RUNSTATE: PREINIT(1)
Feb 20 14:54:49 loretta ntop[3118]: [ID 702911 user.error]
THREADMGMT[t1]: ntop RUNSTATE: INIT(2)
Can someone please advise me how to debug this further?
Regards,
Leighton
