Data persistence is most easily available using rrd plugin. There are
some other methods available such as data dumps. Check the FAQ / MAN
for more info.

Subject: [Ntop] using ntop for traffic measurement.

What a cool software. Is there anyway for it to keep the data when the
service is restarted. (I want to use it for traffic measurement).
However, if when ntop crashes (I dont know why it the service stops -
but I can setup monitoring and restart) and I restart the service (or if

I reboot the server. ntop starts the counters from zero again! So is
there a way to have it persist data when I do a /etc/init.d/ntop restart

(clear shutdown) or when the service stop for reasons unknown to me!
