I had a similar problem several months ago, and saw a post to delete "dnsCache.db" and restart. The file was up to a few hundred megs and corrupted. It gets auto-recreated, and I have only had a problem 1 time since that it has hung (and deleted the file again) in the last several months.
You might want to check and see how big that file is on your server. Mine was in /usr/share/ntop/.
