Sorry for the html email - I was trying to show my config and page
view..

Im playing around with ntop and sflow for the first time and could do
with some help...
I am willing to propose a deal for those that are interested? I have to
document the setup and config for our internal systems, so will be
willing to share this documentation to be published to a wiki if anyone
fancies it? Im quite new to Linux and network monitoring in general, but
can share my experience from a newbies point of view and hopefully save
someone else the pain.

We are a HP network and our core and distribution layer switches support
sfow in hardware :-)
I have installed ntop onto an Ubuntu server and have configured one
switch on a trial basis to send sflow data to the ntop server at a
sampling rate of 1 in every 250 packets. Eventually I am hoping to have
about 50 switches monitored by sflow..

I have used apt-get to install ntop and then through the web interface I
have configured an sflow device and set the interface address to the IP
of the switch. White and black lists have been left blank.
I can see that there is data being received as I have unicasts,
multicasts, and broadcast figures in the sflow interface statistics as
well as a packet count in the flow statistics chart (49 so far)
If I then switch NIC's and look at the Summary - Traffic page it is
reporting Total Received (ntop) 1 which doesn't tie up with the figures
on the sflow interface config page? All graphs although enabled are not
showing any data, though I am guessing that there is additional config
to do.

If someone can help with the basic sflow config and things to check and
what config files to edit, I can knock up a checklist and then get
started on the graph config!

Thank you
