Okay, forget my last post, it seems that it isn't possible because it is
a limitation of the software. I guess I would need to purchase the full
version of diskeeper to get that functionality.

SUMMARY

The Windows 2000 Disk Defragmenter tool is based on Executive Software's
full retail version of Diskeeper. The version included with Windows 2000
provides limited functionality in maintaining disk performance by
defragmenting volumes that use the FAT, FAT32, or NTFS file system.

MORE INFORMATION

This version has the following limitations:

* Can defragment only local volumes

* Can defragment only one volume at a time

* Cannot defragment one volume while scanning another

*       Cannot be scripted

*       Cannot be scheduled

* Can run only one Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in at a
time

        Subject: Scheduling a Defrag in 2000!

        Does anybody know how to schedule a defrag in 2000? I am able to
do it in 9x because the defrag app is defrag.exe, but under 2K it is a
MMC. When I goto scheudle a task I dont see it as an available app. I do
see that I can use scandisk, disk cleanup, etc but the most crucial
one(being defrag) isn't an option. Is there a way to schedule this app
to run at a certain time. I have a client who does alot of work on his
machine and needs to run defrag at regular intervals and doesn't do it
manaully as he should. I would like to get it scheduled so I dont get
bothered by his laptop being slow. Any help!
