Depending on the protocol you are using with Abouttime, you need to enable udp port 123 or port 37
If you look on the options tab for abouttime it has the protocol and port numbers associated with whichever selections you want to use. YOu need to enable it on your firewall outbound and incoming. I enabled it from the IP address of my Time server out and in from the IP address of the NIST, U.S. Naval Observatory and NASA only on the port that I've predetermined. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: Len Hammond [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 28, 2001 3:13 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: Time Server I can see these time servers. I went and got the About Time utility but I can't seem to get it to go through my proxy to actually grab the current time and set a machine. Do I need to open a port or something? I read about an NTP protocol. Do I need it? What is it? where do I get it? and how do I install it?
